good pieces, adam. also, the point about iran being in the vanguard of networking can be extended to a range of areas: notice (as i'm sure you've done before) how the iranians are promoting networked movements around the world, and how their naval forces are being configured to wage swarming attacks in the gulf. iran is heavily into the kinds of innovations john arquilla and i used to write about, as much if not more than any other regime.


To some degree it's also an outgrowth of doctrine and capabilities related to their Iran-Iraq war stuff, w/ infiltration tactics and mass attacks. Also reminds me a bit of Chinese swarming attacks in naval battles in 1950s.
